David Bastable was born in the late 1970’s in Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada. His father, now retired, was a teacher/guidance counselor who developed an educational youth program for ‘at risk’ children. David’s mother, now a nurse, was a stay at home mom who ran a daycare, clothing design, and landscape design. His three older sisters (Jane, Robin, and Mandy) often dressed him in women’s clothing, chased him around the house in vampire attire, but most importantly taught him women are not only fierce but are the more superior sex.
Bastable’s two main passions growing up were sports and movies. He often dreamed of scoring the Stanley Cup winning goal, but after years of mediocrity on the blueline, he resigned to the fact that all of his career highlight goals were found in the nets of beer league hockey. Although he did become a professional golfer in 2003, it was short-lived and he’s now just happy to break eighty. Hollywood is a little over 3,000 kilometers from his hometown but his acting skills, or lack there of, always kept him a gigaparsec away from any type of career in acting. Although, the television screens in homes all across Manitoba have shown a commercial featuring David and his eldest daughter, Ella, in a local commercial promoting recycling.
Bastable now lives with his far superior better half, Laura, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and is the proud father of his two beautiful girls, Ella and Monroe.
